What is Bowen therapy?

Bowen Therapy is a hands-on therapy that uses gentle pressure. To stimulate muscle and tissue, thumbs and fingers are used. These special “moves” acts on definite precise points of the body.  No external force is used.  This experience is gentle, subtle and relaxing. This therapy moves send neurological impulses to the brain. This results in muscle relaxation and pain reduction.  Such moves can also send electrical impulses to the nervous system to regain movements in muscles, joints and tendons.

How Bowen therapy works?

During a typical session, a patient will be asked ideally to lie down on ma massage table although they can also sit. The practitioner will perform roughly three basic sequences initially, which are designed to re-balance the lower back, upper back and the neck. The sessions are meant to gentle and relaxing. They give the patient’s body considerable amount of time to respond to each move. The effect is designed to be completely holistic and enable the patient to use his or her own body to encourage healing.

This therapy is referred to as the precise and gentle form of bodywork can help the body heal itself.  But it is no substitute for conventional medical care.
